Hitachi Vantara Federal’s Chief Data Officer Dr. Pragyansmita Nayak, led a session as part of NLIT 2020 on Tuesday, October 13. Her presentation, Leveraging Pentaho for Tactical & Strategic Intelligence, discussed strategic versus tactical intelligence in a data science environment, and included a demonstration of Hitachi Vantara Federal’s Pentaho data analytics and intelligence platform, utilizing a US Coast Guard open dataset related to marine casualty and pollution as a proof-of-concept. Her analysis studied the incidents by a variety of factors including vessel or facility type, injuries, fatalities, pollutant details, location, and date.
