Hitachi Data Systems Federal Appoints New General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

David Funk Appointed as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Reston, Va. – May 2, 2017 (BUSINESS WIRE) – Hitachi Data Systems Federal, Inc., (HDS Federal) a data solutions provider to the federal government and a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), today announced the appointment of David Funk to general counsel and corporate secretary. Funk, who brings 25 years of experience to HDS Federal, will oversee and manage the company’s legal, contractual and industrial security compliance activities reporting directly to President and CEO David Turner. He succeeds Monica DeNeale, who was recently named vice president and Americas general counsel for HDS.

Prior to joining HDS Federal, Funk served as general counsel and director of contracts for Govplace, Inc., an IT government technology integrator. Earlier in his career he held senior roles within the U.S. Federal Government including Attorney Advisor with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Senior Advisor with the U.S. Department of State.

Funk earned his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and received his Bachelor of Arts in History from Pennsylvania State University.
