At Hitachi Vantara Federal, our people make us great. We recently sat down with Yllen Llanes, Renewals Manager for Hitachi Vantara Federal, for her insight into her role in the organization, life outside of work, and advice for fellow young professionals in federal technology.
What’s your and role within Hitachi Vantara Federal?
I currently work as a Renewals Manager for Hitachi Vantara Federal. I joined the team seven years ago and since then have also become a member in the organization’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee and in Hitachi Vantara Federal’s Women’s Employee Resource Group (ERG).
How do you recharge or find inspiration outside of work?
My family is my inspiration. Spending time together with them creating memories fills my cup!
I’ve also recently enjoyed volunteering my time to assist Women Giving Back – a local nonprofit organization dedicated to providing necessities to women and children in crisis. Hitachi Vantara Federal offers routine opportunities to get involved which has been a great opportunity to give back while getting to know my coworkers outside the office.
I’m also currently pursuing a Masters in Business Administration from Virginia Tech and plan to graduate in the Spring of 2025!
What advice would you give to someone aspiring to work in federal technology?
Bet on yourself and keep showing up! Change the narrative of imposter syndrome – don’t doubt your skills and accomplishments. By becoming comfortable in spaces not designed for you, you drive others collectively forward.
